About Us
Our Story
Trinity Church of God In Christ is a family of believers led by Senior Pastor Edgar Chavers and Pastor Carmen Nelson Chavers. We are a church founded on a legacy of Prayer, Faith, the Word, and Family. We are dedicated to discipleship and helping every person grow in their walk with Christ.
The foundation of our ministry was laid by my father, the late Bishop Charles W. Nelson, a man of powerful prayer and profound faith, and my mother, co-founder Dorothy Nelson. My husband and I founded Holy Spirit Christian Center Church, and in a new chapter of faith, we united our ministry with Trinity to become, as Senior Pastor Edgar says, two churches with one heart.
Our Community
Our community can’t wait for our cherished tent revivals! They are a living tradition built on the power of salvation and revival, where we have experienced powerful testimonies of miraculous healings. These events are a constant reminder that new beginnings are possible for everyone. It was at a tent revival at Trinity that we both accepted Jesus Christ and recommitted our lives to His Lordship.
At Trinity, we believe in spirit-filled service, the prophetic word, and that signs, wonders, and miracles of healing are for today. Our mission is to go out and reach lost souls, believing in the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
